A Few More Roughs

After being gone for a while settling getting moved into a new place and a small bit of traveling back and forth between Vegas and Chicago I think it’s a good time to show you all that I still found time to draw something.

I hope you enjoy these rough sketches!

It’s Been A While

The last couple of months have been busy and full of ups and downs. One of them being a change of location. Things are starting to settle down some and I’ll be getting back to my usual (and favorite) activities. I did manage to get some art time in so here’s a couple of quickly cleaned up and finished pieces of line art…

I hope you like these. And expect more stuff to come as I get back into my regular creative flow. Good day!!

New Pen Sketches

Here are a few new ballpoint pens sketches from the last few days. All are development sketches for my current and future projects. I hope you enjoy them!

Robo-Bear!

Here are a couple quick sketches for a new character concept. Robo-Bear! (That’s a working title, of course.)

A Work in Progress

Here’s a bit of the work in progress for my next book, Welcome to Havesden. It’s been a fun project so far and I’m really quite happy with the way this particular page turned out. I hope you like it, too!

And don’t forget my first book, Metal: A Field Guide of Mechanical Armor to Color, is still available. Please check it out!

Chicago trip sketches

Over this last weekend I took a little trip to Chicago over the weekend for my 55th birthday. I know that you’re probably asking yourself, “why anyone would go to Chicago in January?”

I’ll leave you to ponder that question as you check out  a few of the sketches I drew during my quite enjoyable trip to the Windy City…

Back to work on my next book.

So, in the process of working up things for my next book I get this crazy idea update a piece from last year along the way. The Rocketbear piece needs a bit more in the background anyway so why not a skycarrier? Why not kill two birds with one rocket-powered bear?

Just a bit more to go…

This little project started out as a bit of relaxing fun and has evolved into a bigger project. And a learning exercise, as well. I love being able to push my skill set further AND have fun while doing it.  This started out as little drawing done on a dare by my son who had challenged me with attempting to draw a mecha based on the ones from the anime, Zoids. The line art sat for quite a while till I dug it out to indulge myself coloring it.

I’m using Clip Studio Ex for the color work here.

This one’s starting to shape up. 🙂

And, if you’re wanting to color any of my mecha work you can grab a book full of it here…
